HART USB modem - Released to be used with Simatic PDM

The is HRT USB interface has been successfully tested for use with the parameterisation software Simatic PDM by Siemens and is released for use now. The interface is designed to provide a communication link between a desktop computer or PC notebook and the HART field instrument. Real time data of the HART field devices are available for mobile data acquisition as well as parameterisation. Under the operating systems Windows 98, 2000 and XP the interface can work like a serial modem and offers a serial COM-Port for the configuration of devices integrated in PDM.
The device is USB bus powered, thus not depending on external power supplies. The communication does not interfere with the normal operation of the field device. The interface is housed in a compact shell that attaches securely to the USB port. The HART USB modem standard type supports the HART specification. Its connector cable comes with a twisted pair wire 2-pin terminal block to dual test clips connected with a 9 pin D-Sub connector to the USB interface. The interface is available with isolation to the HART bus.
With the included driver DLL user-specific applications can be integrated easily. Optionally a device type manager (DTM) compliant to the current version 1.2 of the FDT specification is delivered.
