USB Profibus interface with 12 MBit/s - Fieldbus connection by USB port The USB interface is Pro USB improves the mobile set-up and configuration process of Profibus field devices noticeably. Desktop PCs as well as notebooks can be made Profibus stations within seconds based on the plug & play features of USB. The interface is bus-powered, thus not depending on external power connections. If the interface is not used any longer, the Profibus adapter switches off automatically to increase the running time of the notebook battery. Up to 16 interfaces can be connected to one notebook or PC depending on the system topology. Therefore a multi-line Profibus network can be set-up easily. The mobile set-up and configuration process is improved noticeably.
The delivery contents includes the universal Profibus driver for Windows 9x, ME, NT 4.0, 2000 and XP. Linux drivers are available on request.
The interface supports the Master functionality according to the Profibus standards DP Master/Slave DP/V0 (class 1 and 2) and DP Master DP/V1 (class 2). The high transmission speed of up to 12 Mbit/s is relevant for fast applications in factory automation like e. g. drives parameterisation.
Due to the delivered API DLL the Profibus-Device is Pro USB can be integrated in user-specific applications easily.
