Electronic Device Description Language (EDDL) is a language, standardized by CENELEC and IEC, which is used for the description of field devices in regard of their properties and functionality. The objective of the three big organisations, the Fieldbus Foundation, the HART Communication Foundation and the Profibus Nutzerorganisation e.V. is to improve the EDD technology. It is to be achieved an interoperability of 100 %, means all protocols should have have been compatible to all systems.

The isEDD Workbench is an integrated development environment for developing EDDs. An EDD-Editor manages all files of an EDD project and eases the editing of EDD files. An EDD-Checker checks the EDD files. An EDD-Interpreter executes the EDD file, thus providing the ability to execute Offline und Online tests of the EDD files. [more...]
