isNet Cube

In today´s automated plants you will find communication systems in the field level and Ethernet in the management control level existing next to each other. To ensure a consistent communication for many users the seamless integration of both standards becomes a focus of attention. The gateway supports the fieldbuses Profibus and CAN module.
 
Hardware
Access to the CAN network is provided by a D-Sub connector according to the CiA specification DS-102 which is fixed securely in the gateway’s main module. Up to four fieldbus-specific modules can be connected, a free combination of Profibus and CAN modules is approved. The modules are equipped with one or two bus interfaces (single/dual module). The Ethernet port 100BASE-TX supports transfer rates of 10 Mbit/s and 100 Mbit/s.

Depending on the customer-specific needs the gateway can be supplied with up to four CAN modules which results together with the interface of the main module in a maximum of 8 bus interfaces. The protocols DP/V0 and DP/V1-Master are supported. The profibus modules allow common acceptable baud rates up to 12 Mbit/s.
The Ethernet gateway was developed for industrial areas. It needs a 24 V-power supply and its hat rail mounted. The gateway and the fieldbus specific modules are fanless, without moveable parts; they are low in maintenance as well as they are developed for a long life span.

Software
The gateway isNet Cube is completely integrated into the driver architecture of our Profibus and CAN fieldbus components. The network can be accessed by the API of the driver DLL enclosed in the delivery contents. Applications developed for the mobile isCAN USB or for the stationary isPro USBx12 can be used at once without modifications.
