isPro USBx12

The advantages of the Universal Serial Bus combined with the performance of Profibus: these practically orientated features turn the device isPro USBx12 in a state of the art fieldbus component. Desktop PCs as well as notebook devices without Profibus interfaces can be made Profibus stations within seconds based on the plug & play features of USB. The device is bus-powered, thus not depending on external power connections. When not used any longer, the Profibus adapter switches off automatically to increase the running time of the notebook battery.

Up to 16 isPro USBx12 interfaces can be connected to one notebook or PC (depending on the hub topology). Therefore a multi-line Profibus network can be set-up easily. The mobile set-up and configuration process are improved noticeably.

The interface provides a communication solution for the two Profibus protocols DP (class 1 and 2) and DP/V1 (class 2). A transmission speed of up to 12 Mbit/s (including the transmission speed rate of 45.45 kbit/s) is supported.

The Profibus interfaces isPro USBx12 and isPro PCIx12 can be integrated in own applications due to the consistent API DLL without any effort. Applications developed for the use with the mobile USB interface can be operated with the stationary PCI board as well.

Both interfaces can be combined with our components for the automation standards FDT and OPC. Optionally a device type manager (isPro CommDTM) compliant to the current version 1.2 of the FDT specification and an OPC server software (isPro MultiServer) are available.
