

isDTMcreator EDD



The isDTMcreator EDD is a software tool which can use an available Device Description for the generation of a DTM. It opens a straight road into the FDT world and protects already made investments.
Features. The isDTMcreator EDD is based on the well-known and established product, the isDTMcreator Base. In order to give the developer the largest possible freedom, the generation is based consequently on VisualC++ code. The essential preparation steps for the generation are accessible through a user-friendly VisualC++-Wizard. The starting point for the generation process is the existing EDD of the device (with all its included files).
After the import of the files and the subsequent lexical and syntactical analysis, the EDD will be translated into an intermediate model which forms the basis for the further transformation. In the last transformation step the source project of the DTMs device is generated from this intermediate model.
The standard display elements described within the EDD e.g. tables and bar graphs are made available by a set of configurable DefaultActiveX. The standard GUI elements and a run time library are included. While maintaining the text based device description as input information, the DTM generator allows a transformation of the device functionality. Even extensive capabilities of the device can be presented in a more accessible fashion of the DTM level compared to the limited possibilities of other device description interpreters by including manufacturer specific ActiveX after the DTM generation.
The DTM available after the generation process can be extended by the developer.
