isFF FDT

The device type manager isFF FDT facilitates the communication between the field devices at the Foundation Fieldbus network (protocol H1) and their DTMs. It therefore supports the commissioning of the field devices from one central workstation. The configuration tool is compatible to all FDT 1.2 compliant frame applications (Pactware, Fieldcare etc.). The CommunicationDTM requires the PCMCIA or PCI communication interface from National Instruments as its hardware base.

The software package isFF FDT includes the tools:

• CommunicationDTM isFF CommDTM for the interfaces from National Instruments
• Generic DeviceDTM isFF DeviceDTM for any field device

The delivery contents includes a generic DTM for those field devices which are not provided with their own DTM. It offers on a generic level general functions according the FF specification (level 0 and scan). The function "Device List" allows the scan for devices attached to the bus. Additional information are available for every device found. Also the user can check the proper bus connection.
